Year-round NACAS volunteer leadership will show you what’s behind-the-curtain of our organization, engage you in the specific issues of the time, and ask you to co-create value for fellow members. Many of our fondest offerings have been developed by volunteers including our best practice resource guides, C3X content, and field-altering research programs. Nominate yourself or a colleague for one of the following volunteer positions on either the national or regional level.

Are you passionate about recognizing your peers’ contributions to NACAS and the auxiliary services industry? Do you enjoy thinking strategically about how awards contribute to the overall NACAS member experience? Consider volunteering to serve on the Awards Committee.
Time Commitment: Selection meetings are held annually in March and July and otherwise on an ad hoc basis.

The Canadian Committee, supporting and representing the ancillary operators at Canadian institutions, does it all. From programming Canadian-specific education to impacting membership growth, engagement, and retention, the Canadian Committee offers opportunities that anyone can impact. The Canadian Committee is right for you if you’re passionate about ensuring an enhanced experience for our Canadian members.
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month; participation in Canada Lab on-site at C3X.

The Commission’s purpose is to moderate the governing regulations related to the CASP program, make determinations regarding candidate eligibility, and to ensure long-term sustainability is possible. A diverse group of Commission members with varied backgrounds ensure that the certification is attainable for auxiliary professionals while upholding the rigid standards, value, and reputation of the designation.
Note: CASP-certified individuals preferred.

The Communications Services Committee advises on all aspects of College Services including format, philosophy, composition, production, quality and variety of articles to ensure the development of a first-class professional publication. If you have working knowledge and/or experience in marketing, communications, public relations, web technology and/or any other similar type areas, this committee may be your perfect fit!

The Membership Committee, tasked with supporting membership growth and retention, serving as a liaison to new members, and representing the membership-at-large, play a pivotal role in the association’s success. As a volunteer, you will meet and talk with several members on an annual basis and grow your network of auxiliary professionals, and have the opportunity to influence events like the First Timer Reception at C3X. Join the Membership Committee if you’re interested in high-impact, and high-reward opportunities.
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours/month; approx. 4 hours on site at C3X for First Timers program

The Professional Development Committee is responsible for recommendations, development, and implementation of educational opportunities for NACAS members based on core practices/curriculum, relevant, or trending themes and base content via monthly phone calls, one in-person meeting at C3X and subcommittee involvement as needed. The Committee will help achieve Strategic Goals and KPI’s through the different professional development channels.

The Business Partner Advisory Group (BPAG) helps ensure that the value that Business Partners bring to the Association is never overlooked. Whether it is talking through the impact of policy and NACAS decisions that could impact Business Partner, assisting to create new partnership and sponsorship opportunities, considering ways to better enhance the Business Partner membership, or simply welcoming a new Business Partner into the Association and serving as a friendly resource, BPAG is committed to increasing both the retention of NACAS Business Partners as well as to grow the number of Business Partners.
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/quarterly; some on-site C3X responsibilities in the Expo.

The Research Advisory Group sets and approves the strategic direction and initiatives of NACAS Research. Volunteers help shape and review student and member surveys, are invested in obtaining accurate and consistent data from members, and overall provides insight into trends and types of research information that is valuable to NACAS members.
