2016 Student Author Contest Winners Announced

 

Charlottesville, VA (May 31, 2016) – NACAS, the largest auxiliary and ancillary services organization serving higher education, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 Student Author Article Contest. The Student Author Article Contest is an annual competition where current college students submit articles on the topic, “How is your campus auxiliary services making an impact in the area of sustainability? What additional changes could be made; how would those changes impact the student base on campus and you personally?”

The Winners Are:

Grand prize – Alex Slaymaker at Arizona State University

Second place – The student-led Waste Reduction Committee at North Carolina State University

Third place – Gabriela Contreras at University of Houston

Winners are eligible for the following cash prizes: $1,000 for the grand prize, $600 for second place, and $400 for third place. All cash prizes are courtesy of Starbucks Coffee Company.

This year’s grand prize submission will be printed in the summer edition of the College Services magazine.
