Matthew Marcial Named as Chief Executive Officer of NACAS

Charlottesville, VA – NACAS, the largest auxiliary and ancillary services organization serving higher education, announced today that they have appointed Matthew L. Marcial, CAE, CMP as the new CEO of NACAS effective Wednesday, September 1.

“The Board of Directors has been looking for an outstanding leader to engage and collaborate with our energetic and highly motivated team,” states NACAS President Mark Ironside. “Matt will be innovative and a steadying force as he works with us to improve our association and deliver impactful results. I look forward to working with him as we move forward with confidence and courage.”

Dr. Emily Messa, CASP, co-chair of the search committee, calls Marcial “an industry trailblazer who will enhance our focus as a member-driven association for the auxiliary services profession and position us well for the future.”

Marcial began his career in hospitality and event management, beginning his first formal association role after completing his MBA. This set the course for his career in supporting organization members and volunteers who are passionate about their profession. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Conferences & Sales for The Institute of Internal Auditors, a 200,000 member global association. Previously, he has held executive positions in four worldwide associations with annual revenues ranging from $4 to $65 million dollars. Marcial has been honored by Association Forum and USAE in their 2016 Forty Under 40 and by Connect Magazine in their 2014 40 Under 40. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Saint Leo University and an MBA from Florida International University.

“I am incredibly honored and thrilled to serve as the next CEO of NACAS,” says Mr. Marcial. “I have been privileged to work with diverse teams and stakeholders, and I look forward to building upon an already strong foundation to deliver innovative programs and resources to enhance the careers of auxiliary service professionals. Our members make a significant impact on higher education and the student experience, and I am excited to collaborate with the talented staff and dedicated board members to grow and engage a dynamic and inclusive membership community.”
