Amy Gutierrez - Monday General Session Speaker

Session: Building Champion Experiences

Amy Gutierrez, familiarly known as Amy G, is an 8-time Emmy-award winning producer, reporter and host who has covered the San Francisco Giants as a reporter, producer and now team ambassador since 2008. She also serves as a national correspondent for MLB Network and is a seasoned host and emcee for various organizations and charities throughout the Bay Area.

In addition to her long tenure with the Giants, Amy has covered the full spectrum of Bay Area teams including the A's, Warriors, Sharks, Raiders, 49ers, Stanford Cardinal and Cal Bears.

Gutierrez is a storyteller at heart and her 25+ years of experience in broadcast television has transitioned seamlessly into the world of live and virtual event hosting. She has a unique ability to engage with an audience and make people feel at ease. Though she is best known for her sports reporting, Amy has also produced and hosted shows and vignettes for UCSF Health, is a small business owner of a social media marketing company and has served as a Communications Department Lecturer at Sonoma State University since 2019. She is the best-selling author of the Smarty Marty children’s book series and has just released a new picture book entitled Smarty Marty Takes the Field.

Amy is a graduate of UC Davis where she majored in Communications and played volleyball. She and her family reside in her hometown of Petaluma, CA.

Amy will be speaking about the San Francisco Giants’ incredible run of three World Series Championships in five years in relation to the NACAS core values of Integrity, Leadership, Adaptability, Excellence, Inclusiveness, Respect and Community. Amy will emphasize that following the core values will create opportunity, both personally and professionally, to “advance campus experiences that enrich the quality of life for students”, which is a key element of the stated NACAS mission. Each NACAS member deals with a student “touchpoint” that can greatly influence how a student feels about their college experience. By enhancing those touchpoints all of the vested parties – students, parents, administrators, and the surrounding community – feel good about their decisions and their direction.
