NACAS mourns the passing of Frank Mumford, a longtime leader, mentor and friend whose contributions to the association and the college auxiliary services profession will continue to influence generations to come.
Frank’s impact on NACAS extended far beyond the leadership positions he held. As a Past President of both NACAS West and NACAS, he helped guide the association through pivotal periods of growth and change. But for those who had the privilege of knowing him, his greatest contributions were often found in the people he encouraged, supported and inspired.
Frank believed deeply in the importance of developing leaders and strengthening the auxiliary services profession. He was generous with his time and knowledge, readily sharing his experience with emerging leaders and making himself available to colleagues seeking advice or perspective. His mentorship, encouragement and friendship left a lasting impression on countless NACAS members.
Frank’s commitment to developing the next generation of leaders also extended to the NACAS Foundation. He was one of the catalysts behind the establishment of the Foundation and supported its mission financially from its earliest days. His belief in providing opportunities for education, leadership development and mentorship reflected his broader commitment to helping others grow and succeed.
For those who knew Frank, his legacy will not be measured solely by the positions he held or the accomplishments recorded during his career. It will be measured in the leaders he mentored, the colleagues he encouraged, the profession he strengthened and the lives he touched.
Frank’s influence will continue through the many people he inspired and through the values he championed: service, leadership, mentorship and a commitment to helping others succeed.
NACAS extends its deepest condolences to Frank’s family, friends and the many colleagues throughout the NACAS community who had the privilege of knowing him. We are grateful for his years of service, his friendship and the lasting mark he made on NACAS and the auxiliary services profession.
